BlueStar welcomes chef ryan scott | press release | all star chef

April 1, 2014

CHEF RYAN SCOTT, BEST KNOWN AS A CHARISMATIC CONTESTANT ON SEASON FOUR OF “TOP CHEF” AND NOW HOST OF HIS OWN SAN FRANCISCO-BASED TELEVISION SHOW, “FOOD RUSH,” MAY BE COMFORTABLE COOKING IN FRONT OF A CAMERA, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO COOK BEHIND THE SCENES AT HOME, HE PREFERS HIS BLUESTAR® RESTAURANT QUALITY RANGE TOPPED WITH A CUSTOM, HIGH PERFORMANCE PRIZER HOOD.

(Reading, PA – April 1, 2014) – BlueStar’s newest “All Star” Chef Ryan Scott wants appliances that can keep up with his high-energy lifestyle and need for high-powered cooking performance.  As a busy professional – Scott is the owner of San Francisco’s popular “Market & Rye” as well as a catering company called Ryan Scott2Go, and also is developing plans to open another eatery – he is accustomed to cooking equipment that is powerful, reliable and precise.

“The power, heavy construction, durability and open burner of BlueStar’s ranges are comparable to those used in my restaurants,” says Scott.  “BlueStar ranges generate some of the highest BTUs available to residential users.  While most residential burners max out at 12,000 BTUs, and a few offer 15,000 or 18,000, BlueStar’s RNB series provides 22,000 BTUs and the new Platinum range goes as high as 25,000 BTUs.”

Chef Scott credits his mom with instilling in him a love and passion for food.  “Whether it’s at home or in front of a live audience, my mom is still my favorite cooking partner.  I make the recipes that she taught me as a kid growing up,” says Scott.

“Even though I cook all day long, I still love cooking at home,” explains Scott.  “My mother taught me that food brings together family and friends, and being able to work on a restaurant-quality range at home makes that possible.  I fell in love with the BlueStar high heat open burners.  There is a level of precision and control that comes with this range that is simply unmatched.”

To make sure, his new stainless steel BlueStar range with bright yellow knobs and built-in griddle, plus a Manhattan style Prizer Hood are central to his kitchen, Scott is completely remodeling around the appliances.  He plans to knock down a wall, install new cabinets and new countertops to create his dream kitchen at home.  “We picked the bright yellow knobs to match the door to the kitchen; I just loved how easily I could match something that was already an important part of our home,” explains Scott.

“I love to create food people want to eat every day, and to do it well,” says Scott.  With his TV Show on tap for another three years, a live radio show based in San Francisco and a plethora of upcoming projects, Scott is nothing short of a superstar chef that simply loves to cook and spend time in the kitchen.

Chef Scott recently demonstrated the new BlueStar Platinum range at Standards of Excellence, an appliance retailer in San Jose, and will be hosting select culinary demos in the San Francisco area.  Check in at Bluestarcooking.com for a schedule of appearances at local BlueStar dealers when announced.

Handcrafted in Reading, PA since 1880, BlueStar ranges come in an infinite number of unique configurations, including grill and griddle options, to accommodate all cooking needs.  Not only are BlueStar ranges, cook tops and ovens restaurant grade but its wide array of 190 different colors make any kitchen more unique.  Of course BlueStar offers stainless steel as well, but who wouldn’t want a true professional and colorful kitchen that will make foodie friends turn 50 shades of green with envy?
