(Reading, PA, June 2009) – BlueStar™, manufacturer of high-performance gas ranges, cooktops and hoods for the residential market, officially announced the launch of its 2009 line of built-in Gas Wall Ovens for the home. The ovens are available in 24”, 30” and 36” sizes and can be ordered in 190 different colors.
The 24” oven features a swing door, while the 30” and 36” models feature French doors. Each model is available as a single oven or two single ovens double stacked. All oven sizes offer convection cooking and feature a 25,000 BTU burner, a 15,000 BTU ceramic infrared broiler, as well as the largest oven capacity in their class.
“One of the biggest changes for 2009, besides an optimized aesthetic, is dependent French doors. Now when you open the left door on the 30” and 36” ovens, the right door will open simultaneously. This is an incredibly useful feature in commercial kitchens as it allows you to use your left hand to open the doors and your free hand to place food in the oven – we’ve now brought the same concept to the home chef,” says Mike Trapp, BlueStar’s Vice President of Operations.
The wall ovens also incorporate important elements of universal design, which strives to make everyday life easier for people of all ages and abilities. It involves not only the proper placement of items, but also emphasizes ease of operation. “You can avoid reaching over a hot oven door since the French doors open easily with a simple pull. And for people with disabilities, a French door oven set lower to the ground allows easy access to the oven.” says Trapp.
Additional product features include convection oven cooking, a full extension oven rack, a heat assist element for quick start-ups, and 3,000 BTU of additional power. The wall ovens operate on either gas or propane.
“All the research is showing people are staying home and cooking more. And they’re increasingly seeking quality products that both look good and perform at a high level. I think that’s why the wall ovens have struck a cord. The combination of the high performance gas convection oven, French doors, and 190 colors is truly unique.
