Washington DC

A Pop of Color – Capitol Hill Kitchen

After purchasing a row house in a historic neighborhood of Washington DC, the homeowner attempted to remodel the kitchen on his own. After realizing that he might have bitten off more than he can chew, the client hired Case Design/Remodeling to take over and we are so glad, that he did! We wanted the kitchen to reflect the style of the home and the neighborhood. That is why we picked classic black and white cabinetry with tall crown mouldings, paired them with natural marble countertops, that we also applied to the backsplash going all the way to the ceiling. Beautiful quarter sawn white oak flooring added much needed warmth to the space. The opal green range and hood became the star of the show, creating a pop of color in otherwise neutral kitchen. Even though the whole house is only 13 feet wide, this small kitchen is packed with storage and most important – personality.
