Color is a big part of who BlueStar® is. Over the last 15 years, we have grown our offerings to over 1,000+ colors and finishes, as well as custom colors, making us the appliance leader in color. For years we have tracked, monitored and reported on color trends from Pantone, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams and more. But, for the first time in our 140 year company history, we are proud to announce OUR Color of the Year. We’ve worked with Interior Designer Kim Lewis, a leading color expert and industry Trendspotter to find the perfect color for a new start in 2021. We are thrilled to announce our 2021 Color of the Year is Light Aqua Green; a nature-inspired hue that invites calm and positivity into the home kitchen.
“As we look forward to 2021, we are craving a color that is fresh and vibrant, but still relatable, compassionate and calming. With so much uncertainty in the past year, our hope is that Light Aqua Green will be unifying, agreeable and secure,” said Kim Lewis, who selected the shade. “Psychologically, blue hues by nature tend to be trustworthy and dependable, even universal in likability. This Light Aqua Green nods to nostalgic brighter days, offering healing and renewal by sweeping through the home decor space like a cleansing wave of fresh, pure water … something we need like never before!”
Light Aqua Green (RAL #6027) is subdued and livable, and is perfect for keeping spaces light and airy. It brings the outside in and soothes the spirit to lift the heart of the home. This natural neutral pairs well with wood tones as well as crisp or creamy whites, creating an optimistic, fresh space. The color can be easily applied across many different materials and textures and is stunning on any cooking, ventilation or refrigeration product in either a high gloss or matte finish. Elevate these colored appliances to match other kitchen hardware by adding brushed brass trim which is the perfect complement to this year’s top color. “Who doesn’t want a happy kitchen? In these uncertain times, a little color can go a long way to lift the spirit and feed the soul,” said Lewis.
This year, everyone is spending a lot of time in the kitchen, experimenting, nurturing and creating. More than ever, there is a heightened feeling that home is a haven, a safe place. No element of home design is as important, or more discussed, or evaluated than color. Color can be beneficial, and our 1,000+ options are meant to inspire any lifestyle or personality. The Light Aqua Green selected by Kim is no exception, it feels both exciting and tranquil, and can easily be used to create a stunning focal point in any home kitchen.
