Case Project
In Marshalls, Virginia, Avneet Luthra of CASE Architects and Remodelers took a uniquely warm, inviting approach to this contemporary, multi-functional kitchen remodel, completely reworking the existing footprint to create more light, space, and flexibility for cooking, gathering, and everyday life.
The homeowners were emphatic and intentional about steering away from the traditional all-white kitchen and enthusiastically selected a custom Grey Blue finish on their 36” BlueStar Culinary (RCS) Series range and refrigerator, providing a natural starting point for the rest of the design. This led the designer to tonal yet simplified, clean cabinetry paired with rich walnut accents and contrasting countertops. Centrally positioned between two large windows, the range features brass knobs, and above it is a simple drywall hood with a walnut band, giving the cooking area a standout presence.
At the center of the kitchen is an impressive two-level island for both prep and gathering, while a new coffee bar adds another layer of functionality and connection. The combination of deep blue and earthy tones creates a warm, natural, layered palette that connects the kitchen to the home’s character.
