The first step you should take in choosing a fridge is to figure out what size will fit in your kitchen, then decide on the door style. Today, most people tend to go for French door fridges because they look sleek and have wide shelves and drawers that keep fruits and veggies at eye level. You may prefer a side-by-side model if you want a bigger freezer, a classic top-freezer if you’re on a budget, or a counter-depth fridge to save valuable space and give your kitchen an airier feel. What we don’t cover in this guide are specialty fridges, like built-in or integrated units, but our advice on the features to consider when buying any new fridge will apply to those, too.
