Perhaps you’ve never considered the idea of hiding your fridge in plain sight. But now that you know the option is available, you have to admit, it’s an intriguing thought. BlueStar, a company rooted in custom appliance design, just debuted a brand new printing process that allows customization, as in you can make your appliances completely disappear.
At the 2021 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) on Feb. 9., the company premiered a high-res decal printing process that allows customers to personalize their refrigerator or range to whatever pattern, print, or design they want.
To get started, all you need to do is send BlueStar a high-resolution image of your desired pattern, and the company can print a custom decal. So, yup — your fridge can blend right into your wall. However, don’t blame BlueStar if you’re unable to find it after installation.
According to Domino, BlueStar will make their custom decal option available to customers within the next eight to ten weeks, with a personalized range and/or fridges setting you back between $2,000 to $3,000 each.
It should be noted that the fridge decals are permanent, however, range decals can be removed and updated if your taste changes later down the road… or if you decide you’d rather have your range become a statement piece rather than part of the wallpaper.
As long as your image has a high enough resolution, BlueStar can print it on your appliance. The customization options are truly endless, and your new kitchen renovation just got a whole lot more fun.
