In the Kitchen, Black-tie Optional

August 9, 2016:

Be bold, be modern and luxuriate in black.  In fact, matte black is beginning to rival stainless steel in the kitchen.  While BlueStar is known for over 750+ colors and finishes, right now basic black is getting the recognition it deserves.  Black is back, and it looks great.  We’ve been seeing a lot of bright, white kitchens lately but that doesn’t mean they’re your only choice.  At the other end of the spectrum are these dusky spaces with black appliances or black cabinets or black tiles on the floor or walls.  Whether paired with white or rich woods, a black backdrop makes for a beautiful, invigorating place to cook.

There are endless ways to truly personalize your pro-style home kitchen with BlueStar.  If you need powerful professional grade appliances, and unmatched design options, BlueStar has you covered.  BlueStar’s gas ranges, rangetops, wall ovens and chef inspired accessories offer versatile appliances with multiple levels of use and power.  The over 750 colors allow exhaustive color combinations and all black everything is one very exciting choice for the bold hearted.

A statement-making all black kitchen has a clean, simple, yet rich elegance.  Whether you’re going for ultra sleek and modern, urban sophistication, or rustic elegance, black is a daring choice that offers both clean lines and luxurious tones.

If you don’t want to go completely dark, you can add splashes of color with BlueStar’s custom trim and knob options.  These are also available in excess of 190 colors that can be added to just the knobs.  Trim can add sparkle and glamour to your appliance.  While silver, chrome and stainless steel are three metallics commonly used in the kitchen, warmer metals, like gold, copper and bronze, also should have their moment to shine.  The texture and gleaming finish of metallics provide a stunning accent to most palette choices and are at their most dramatic against a black backdrop.

Those who like the idea of black but are tentative might consider introducing one or two black elements.  Chicago design studio KitchenLab has used black accents like islands, lighting, kitchen ladders and window treatments, and of course, a matte black range as a centerpiece.  Artwork and textiles incorporating black with brights, whites or subtle neutrals like sage, putty and cream add drama.
