BlueStar® Announces Return of Annual Kitchen Design Competition

BlueStar® is inviting professional designers, architects, builders and remodelers to submit outstanding kitchen designs for the chance to win the title of BlueStar® Kitchen Designer of the Year

READING, PA, April 4 – BlueStar®, a leading manufacturer of high performance appliances for the home, has announced that their annual Kitchen Design Competition is returning for the second year. The contest honors design professionals who incorporate BlueStar® products into innovative, beautiful kitchen designs. The 2017 competition is open for entries from now through February 1, 2017.

The contest attracts entries from across the country. One Grand Prize winner receives BlueStar® appliances for their home kitchen, the title BlueStar® Kitchen Designer of the Year, plus a trip to New York City for the 2017 Architectural Digest Home Design Show.  Six Regional Winners also will be named.

Heidi Piron, of Heidi Piron Design & Cabinetry, Summit, NJ, took the top prize in Bluestar’s first-ever Kitchen Design Competition.  “Her winning design reflects an industrial style which is trending now, with the classic blending of black and white,” said contest judge Eric Cohler, renowned interior designer. “Being a neutral, black is never not in style, but it is enjoying a rebirth, especially matte black in the kitchen.”

All kitchen design entries must be submitted by February 1, 2017, and all submitted kitchens must have been completed no earlier than the 2014 calendar year. The kitchen design entry can be any style kitchen. A minimum of one BlueStar® kitchen appliance as the primary appliance is required.
