BlueStar Celebrates 2018 Color Trends at KBIS

December 19, 2017

From powerful purple to hot red to soothing ocean blue, BlueStar’s unparalleled customization options help create a bespoke kitchen design.

BlueStar®, manufacturer of high-performance appliances for the home – and the industry leader in color options and innovation – is celebrating the color trends of 2018 at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show, from the just announced Ultra Violet, the 2018 Pantone Color of the Year to Benjamin Moore’s Caliente, a vibrant, charismatic shade of red to the rich, bluish-green jeweled toned hue appropriately named Oceanside by Sherwin Williams. Each color speaks to the latest looks in fashion, decorating and design while also reflecting what’s happening in the world today.

As a leading purveyor of color and customization in the appliance world, last fall, BlueStar® also announced its color picks for 2018 which align with other top trends, including Violet Purple and Azure Blue. The exclusive BlueStar 2018 palette was curated by Jill Calo of Payne & Payne Builders, and the winner of last year’s BlueStar’s Kitchen Design contest. These on-trend colors, as well as others, will be on display at the BlueStar® suite in the American Gas Association Booth, #2519.

“With all the color and design trends we can expect in 2018, there seems to be something for just about everyone and only BlueStar can bring a huge selection of color choices into the home to create a truly on-trend kitchen design,” said BlueStar® President Eliza Sheffield.

BlueStar® invites home chefs to name their own color of the year and choose from among the company’s vast palette of more than 750 colors, which include 2018’s hottest on-trend hues, as well as many other beautiful choices. While most appliance manufacturers offer a palette of 10-12 traditional colors, BlueStar® has been a leader in color customization for more than a decade, offering its appliances in literally hundreds of colors and finishes, as well as custom colors. In addition, BlueStar® offers curated groupings of unique finishes to stimulate the design process, including a Matte color collection; popular Precious Metals featuring copper, enchanted silver and other metallics; as well as the award-winning Textures collection and the gem-inspired Jewel Tones. BlueStar’s Platinum range in Matte colors was just named a recipient of the prestigious GOOD DESIGN Award. Founded in Chicago in 1950, GOOD DESIGN™ remains the oldest, prestigious, and most recognized program for design excellence worldwide.

“No element of home decorating is more discussed or evaluated than color. Each season interior design experts and forecasters weigh in with predictions of up-and-coming colors in the industry,” said Calo. “Unexpected combinations such as Pastel and Purple Violets and rich Blues are eye-arresting and create an unusual color dichotomy. Use color to create a stunning focal point in your home kitchen with a range and kitchen hood or refrigerator, or add just a pop of color with knobs,” said Calo.

An interactive website tool, ‘Build Your Own BlueStar’, allows consumers to customize a new BlueStar® range – from the burner configuration to the color of the knobs. Even the knobs are available in 190 colors, and both knobs and trims are offered in 10+ designer metals.

Handcrafted in the U.S. since 1880, BlueStar® is building upon a 135 heritage of innovation by offering serious home cooks a turnkey solution for a top-performing, personalized kitchen, and has recently expanded its offering to include electric appliances and premium refrigeration.
