CHICAGO, IL, August 3 – Abt Electronics, one of the nation’s largest independent electronics and appliance retailers, is proud to host MasterChef Junior Champ and Chicago resident Addison Osta Smith in the store’s Glenview, IL location on Wednesday, August 16th, 1:00-3:00pm for a live cooking demonstration.

Bring the kids! Chef Addison will demo and serve up ‘Back to School’ favorites including her award-winning sweets and artisanal pizzas. Working on the same BlueStar® commercial-style equipment she uses at home, the talented young chef will cook up these sweet and savory treats and explain how kids can get involved in the family kitchen. The MasterChef Junior season 4 winner, who won the competition in January 2016, hasn’t slowed down since. She filmed the show when she was just 9 years old, and it aired when she was 10, making her the youngest-ever MasterChef Junior winner, and the first female to take the top prize, too. And though her love of cooking is bringing her lots of attention, it all started the way most kids learn how to cook: in the kitchen with her mom and dad.

“People know me from Master Chef Junior for my fancy desserts and miso-glazed cod, but when I’m at home with my family, we like to keep it fun and easy,” says chef Addison. While her parents do most of the cooking during the week since she is busy with sports and other activities, she enjoys cooking on the weekends and for special occasions.

At the demo, Chef Addison will be using the BlueStar® electric wall oven and will put its built-in artisan baking stone to good use with her ‘back-to-school’ pizzas.
