Celebrating Independence with the Freedom to Customize

June 29, 2016

Reading, Pa., June 29 – Known for commercial-style gas ranges for the home, BlueStar® celebrates the American heritage of individuality and personal choice by offering unmatched customization in U.S.-made appliances with a painter’s palette of more than 750 color and trim choices in both cooking equipment and refrigeration.

BlueStar® is a homegrown, distinctly American brand preferred by top industry chefs who want to create a restaurant-quality kitchen in their own homes. Since 1880, BlueStar® has manufactured its appliances in Reading, Pennsylvania.

“We are proud of carrying on the tradition of American custom manufacturing in Pennsylvania and most recently our new refrigeration line in Iowa,” said Eliza Sheffield, president, BlueStar®, “and proud that our products are made by skilled American workers.”

Home chefs have the option to style and build their entire kitchen to their exact specifications. With complete control over customization, BlueStar® customers have the freedom to design their range from top to bottom, including a choice of burners, colors and even unique accessories like salamander grills and French Tops.  The burners range from a powerful 25,000BTUs to a gentle simmer of 130 degrees.  The extra-large oven with true European convection and 1850° infrared broiler accommodates a full-size commercial 18″ x 26″ baking sheet.

An interactive website tool, ‘Build Your Own BlueStar‘, allows consumers to completely customize a new BlueStar® range – from the intensity of the burners to the color of the knobs and the range or oven itself – before buying.

Creating a complete, chef-inspired kitchen suite is now possible with the introduction of the BlueStar® Refrigeration line, designed and manufactured by BlueStar ®in Iowa.  The 36” built-in BlueStar® refrigerator also offers 750+ colors and finishes, 10 metal trims, and left or right door swings. Honoring the American tradition of bigger is better, the refrigerator offers an extra-large 22.5 cubic ft. capacity and features a full extension tray that fits commercial size sheet pans and oversized, fully extending drawers with soft-close technology.

“Most appliances are mass-produced so it doesn’t make sense for companies to make them to order. But at BlueStar, where we handcraft each piece of equipment, customizing every little detail is a way of life,” said Sheffield. “Customers can order our products with a wide variety of configurations in virtually any color or finish, including custom colors.”
